DESCRIPTION

BEST POINTS OF ENTRY AND EXIT INTO INDIA

DELHI

The most convenient point of entry for Rajasthan, the capital of modern and medeival India has a treasury of monuments to visit.

BOMBAY

The only other alternate point of entry into India if you wish to visit Rajasthan. The financial hub of modern India, it also played the same role during the British Raj, and many edifices prove the financial muscle this city has enjoyed.

OTHER MAJOR TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

AGRA

A must for the first time India visitor, the city of the Taj also has the Mughal dynasty city of Fatehpur Sikri as an additional attractions.

NORTH INDIA

The erotic temples of Khajuraho and the eternal city Varanasi which best represents the ancient Indian traditions can both serve as very attractive stops for those seriously interested in studying Indian culture.

NEPAL

The Shangri La that everyone is looking for in their lives, Kathmandu has a strong identity of its own. Its mix of Hindu and Budhist traditions is truly unique.

GUJARAT

A land of Maharajahs second only to Rajasthan. Nowhere else will you get to sleep in splendid places that only Maharajahs used once. The experience of seeing the Jain temples at Palitana, the unique wooden ‘havelis’ (town houses) of Ahmedabad and the handicrafts of Bhuj is unparalelled anywhere else in India. There is even a beach resort to rival Goa, Diu, right down to its Portugese roots. And, in parting, the only sanctuary where you can see lions anywhere in Asia, is at Sasan Gir.

AURANGABAD

If you can shut out the cahtter of other tourists, assume the lotus pose and close your eyes, you will feel the immense serenity a monk would have felt sitting in the wonderous caves at Ellora and Ajanta. Even today, even with the tourist buses and cola stands, your heart will skip a beat when you visit these caves, made as pit stops for monks on thier annual pilgrimages.

GOA

The most fun place in India and the only place in India with a tradition of enjoying life. Unwind on the beaches, visit the waterholes, and, most importantly, visit the old Portugese city of Panjim.where the embalmed body of St. Francis Xavier lies.

KERALA

Have a month to spend in India ? Just add Rajasthan and the South Indian state of Kerala together. You will get to see for yourself what a gigantic melting pot India is.
