In 1951, TGS (then called “TOURIST GUIDE SERVICE”) was started with the modest ambition of providing guiding services to the odd tourist who happened to choose to discover the wonders of Rajasthan. Soon TGS had branched out into arranging transport (cars borrowed from friends), hotels (government Circuit Houses dressed up to receive tourists) in addition to arranging guides (college students out for some pocket money). From these humble beginnings, TGS and Rajasthan have come a long way and Rajasthan is a world-class destination attracting investment from leading hotel chains and tour operators. We at TGS, continue to do what we have done best – ensure a trouble free visit of Rajasthan for Tour Operators and discerning tourists who honour us with their tour arrangements. Our selection by the White House to arrange the visit of President Clinton in March 2000 was the crowning achievement in the long history of our organisation and vindication of our years of dedicated service.
